The cod has an overbite and carries barbell, a tiny string beard. There are 3 dorsal fins, where 2 are symmetrical with the 2 anal fins. The white lateral line is pronounced and stretches upwards on the front part of the body with a straight tail fin.
Color
Brownish, grey or green with greyish spots on the back and sides, the abdomen is of a light color.
