Description
The Curlew is a large wading bird, well known for its very long, curved bill. It is predominantly brown, streaked with no outstanding plumage features. The long legs and the extremely long, gently curved bill are very distinctive. The sexes are similar, although females have a longer bill. In flight, it shows a triangular white patch above the brown barred tail. Migrates in winter.
